So, saw Man of Steel some time ago and I liked. I liked it quite a lot actually.
I thought that it did a good job of retelling the fabeled origin story of Superman in a modern way for a new audience. At the same time it's well-acted, has some Amazing action scenes that almost took my breath away several times and it did a good job of balancing the serious story with some nice Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-61471287810877374232013-05-25T12:05:00.000-07:002013-06-04T11:24:39.783-07:00I just want a good Superman movie
Let's make this simple.
I like Superman and I am really looking forward to the upcoming Man of Steel-movie premiering this june. So I figure I could rant a bit about the live-action incarnations of Superman that are the most relevant to me. Because I'm a nerd and I like to rant about these things.
First up is the classic Superman movie with Christopher Reeve as the titular character.Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-12223538257714400422013-04-13T08:54:00.000-07:002013-06-04T11:25:12.676-07:00No clever title, I just wanted to tell everybody that Hannibal the tv-series is just really badNo pictures either. I just really want to rant a bit and explain why I am utterly baffled why a lot of people are praising the new television series Hannibal, which acts as a prequel to Thomas Harris' book series turned into three pretty great movies where the titular Hannibal Lecter plays a big role.
Because if you ask me it's really really bad.
Now, I love the three books (Red Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-18681827812648429292012-02-11T03:27:00.000-08:002013-06-04T11:25:32.382-07:00A most epic and entertaining journey deserving of a tributeWhen you've been reading superhero comics for as long as I have it's almost inevitable that you'll get a bit jaded about the whole thing.
You think, a bit conceitedly, that - "There are only so many stories you can tell about men and women fighting crime with superpowers while wearing tights.". And while it's true that a lot of the stories throughout the decade share many of the same beats that Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-52875467076840672532012-01-30T12:23:00.000-08:002013-06-04T11:25:46.190-07:00A severe case of event fatigueThe first month of the new year is coming to a close. That naturally means that it's time to over-think stuff that's going to come out in the summer. For your average comic book buying Marvel zombie (I will never why any fan would call themselves that) that means it's time to buy this year's company crossover event comic and all the tie ins they can afford. That would be the case for me at least Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-26659875894499518862011-12-22T10:31:00.000-08:002013-06-04T11:26:13.227-07:00That special feelingI'm not much of a christmas person. Or rather, I'm not much of christmas person in the way conventional sense, as portrayed in western media that is.
I appreciate it for the short vaccation and presents I usually get and seeing people I love get happy, hopefully, when they open the presents I give to them. And that's basically it for me. Sure the snow is fun, when it shows up that is. But Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-52788898852329093712011-12-20T12:54:00.000-08:002013-06-04T11:26:27.652-07:00Mumbly voices and imploding football fields! It's been a slow and poorly updated year here. I blame myself for being lazy and pre-occupied. But I should be able to talk more about stuff that concerns my nerdy interest. So I'm gonna try to be better at that starting with the new official trailer for The Dark Knight Rises.
To be honest I haven't really been all that interested in this movie, at least not as much as I've been in other Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-43680973127091097432011-11-14T11:08:00.000-08:002011-11-14T11:08:39.429-08:00I like autumOut of the four seasons I like autum the most,.
because it's the me of seasons.
It doesn't insist on itself,
like spring with its bright light and colours,
constantly blooming flowers and trees
and plentiful cultural celebrations.
It isn't unpredictable like summer,
with its constantly alternating sun and rain,
mind-numbing summer-menace and
possibly cancelled concerts.
It doesn't act all Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-16904770795838045132011-10-16T11:52:00.000-07:002013-06-04T11:27:05.045-07:00On the cosmic side of thingsSo, I think that it's pretty obvious that I'm a comic book reader. While people may think this means that I'm all about the mainstream characters like Batman, Superman, Spider-man and the like. That's wrong... kind of. I still love most of the more publicly known heroes but ever since 2006 I have largely been more interested in the adventures and exploits of the group of characters thatOverlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-66597421462975745232011-10-11T10:38:00.000-07:002013-06-04T11:27:27.875-07:00Nerd squee!
AVENGERS TRAILER YEAH!
...yes I remember that I have a blog. I have a life too so shut up.
...sorry I told you to shut up.
Anyway...
So the link above will take ou to the first real trailer, not a teaser like at the end of the Captain America movie (which was totally awesome). But an actual fullblown trailer. And it is glorious!
We get the basics behind the team explained to us by the Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-34321366936763479162011-07-20T06:39:00.000-07:002013-06-04T11:27:57.116-07:00Harry Potter Retrospective FinaleOk then, time for a few last words about the Harry Potter series before going back to comics and comic book movies.
If it hasn't been clear by now, I don't know how that would be possible, I absolutely love this book series. What a great way of being introduced to both books and fantasy. It's overall well-written (how well written it is probably up for debate), it includes a nice combination of Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-82035693267503432302011-07-12T08:15:00.000-07:002013-06-04T11:30:55.324-07:00Harry Potter Retrospective Part 7With a content smile he closed the last volume and replaced next to its older siblings on his bookshelf, smirking a little at the book's pristine condition compared to the first one's marked form.

2008 we got to see a computer animated anthropomorphic panda named Po, voiced by Jack Black, star in a Wuxia style action comedy movie. It sort of became one of the surprise hits of the year due to its clever writing, epic martial arts action, well-paced character arcs, good attention to conventions and great CGI. It probably also helped that everybody was expecting a more Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-34751135446987093302011-06-23T06:58:00.000-07:002013-06-04T11:36:46.131-07:00Harry Potter Retrospective Part 6Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince is kind of tricky to write about. On the one hand I really like the book for pretty much the same reason as most of the other books. But on the other it kind of feels like just a bridge between OOTP and the last book and I have very few topics to pick from it. And that's one of the two official reasons why I'm late with this post, the other being that I've Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-9796742991429212132011-05-24T23:40:00.000-07:002013-06-04T11:37:07.177-07:00MOVIE REVIEW: ThorOk, it's been a while since I last wrote something here. Moving, finishing exams, getting sick and seeing a second cousin getting baptized will do that. But now I'm here so let's talk Thor the movie.
Short version: It's good not perfect. Overall really fun.
Long version: Well...

A preview clip for the final Harry Potter movie. It's just a few months away people. But before I'll experience that grand nerd event I'll have moved, seen my latest second cousin get baptized, taken a trip to and from USA (Logan and Las Vegas to be specific) and hopefully I'll have read through the last two books in the series. But that's in the future, a concept Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-38731631891677986442011-04-01T14:08:00.000-07:002011-04-01T14:08:01.338-07:00Top ten awesomest Batman: The Brave and the Bold episodesDeciding that I don't put up enough stuff on this thing I've decided to throw out my usual pre-planning thinking and just do a new top ten list of the top of my head. And the first thing that came to mind was Batman: The Brave and the Bold episodes, mostly because I'd just watched the episode where Superman guest stars.

Last year I was largely disappointed by the roster of songs for the finale but we ended up with a good song as winner, stupid invisible jury groups stopped us before we got to the real ESC finale but that's a whole other Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-89925779214743666332011-02-27T05:11:00.000-08:002013-06-04T11:52:06.947-07:00Harry Potter Retrospective Part 4You know, it's actually rather strange. There is so much stuff that happens in Goblet of Fire and yet I've had some major issues coming up with what I want to focus on for this post. One would think that between all the harrowing tasks, the expansion (for the reader) of the magical world, forward momentum in the romance department and first official character death I'd have tons of shit to say.

Just of the top of my head I've seen the ending of Friends (predictable and overly mushy), Fresh Prince in Bel-Air (well-written and fairly smart), The Nanny (ok and Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-13217007001109210692011-01-17T09:38:00.000-08:002011-01-17T09:38:54.055-08:00What nerds can look forward to in 2011A new year is upon us, has been for about half a month, and with it comes a plethora of new movies, games, comics and other wonderful nerd stuff that we can all look forward to... or dread depending on once preferences. So I figured that I'd just list a few of the things that I'm excited about this year, besides my totally awesome summer trip to Las Vegas, and a few things that I will avoid like Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-20768907941351497992011-01-05T07:45:00.000-08:002013-06-04T12:01:48.530-07:00Harry Potter Retrospective Part 3Reading it again I've come to realise that Prisoner of Azkaban (PoA) is one of my favourite books in the series. This is mostly because of a unique story aspect that seperates it from the other entries. You see, whereas Voldemort is the big bad in all the other books, via his direct actions or people following his orders, he is nowhere to be found in PoA except for nightmares Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1251684308542659388.post-11739555365484890092010-12-10T14:14:00.000-08:002013-06-04T12:03:54.551-07:00Harry Potter Retrospective Part 2When I used to be a member of a swedish Harry Potter fan community, before the website got shut down due to illegal use of the hogwarts name, I was often confounded that pretty much everybody would put Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets at the bottom of their list when asked how they'd rank the various books. The other books had different ranks depending on the person but CoS almost always Overlord of the North!http://www.blogger.com/profile/02827039137461518318noreply@blogger.com0
